Aeration
- Subsurface
- Carries warm water from the bottom of the water to the surface preventing ice build-up.
- Surface Aeration
- Max water flow and oxygen transfer.
- Uses: Fish Pond, Docks, Boat Houses
Circulator
- Circulators circulate warm water from the bottom of the water to the surface of the water.
- It also can spread water laterally to push ice away from a dock system.
- Uses: Docks, and Boat Houses
Tips
- When using circulators, use timers or temperature sensors.
- Setup your de-ice system appropriately.
- For a personal dock, keep a narrow body of water around the dock open.
- Use circulators to keep ice from hitting a dock on a river.
- Use de-icers to keep a marina clear of ice.
- Verify run times. You may only need to run your de-icer 2-4 hours per day depending on the de-icing situation.
- Check with your state for permits and signage.
